This area is steeped in history.However for those who just want R and R, look no further.The swimming is good, the pool a very good size.The beaches are pretty(coarse sand), and it's possible to eat on the sea-front.In season, this area is a bustling village;out of season, it is very much like a dozy cornish village.
To have excellent restaurants within easy walking distance is a big bonus.
Golf is available within 20 minutes.

Girona is about 35 mintes away.This is a delightful city with a lot of history and well worth a visit.
Barcelona is 1 hour and 40 minutes away.WOW, what a city!
Local markets with local produce.The Palafrugell (3 mins by car) market is almost daily.Wonderful fruit and vegetables.
Large supermarkets in Palafrugell.Adequate ones in Calalella de Palafrugell, during the summer season.A few small shops are open out of season.
