Situated in a traditional, unspoilt area of France, the Berry, yet with a wide variety of activities and things to see on the doorstep, including visiting historic chateaux - such as the nearby chateaux at Culan, Meillant or Ainay-le-Vieil, or slightly further afield to the more well-known chateaux of the Loire, Chambord, Chenonceau or Villandry; tasting delicious local wines at Chateaumeillant or Sancerre; watching an exciting Grand Prix at Magny Cours (1 hour away); or just taking it easy birdwatching or fishing in the village

Le grand Champiau is our largest gite, with room sizes to match (1 double bedroom and 3 twins, 1 bathroom, 1 shower-room, plus extra WC). The fully-equipped kitchen (washing-machine, dishwasher, gas cooker, wood-burning cuisiniere, micro-wave, fridge-freezer, etc.) has a real country feel with stone walls, wooden beams and tiled floor. The solid oak dining table and solid ash work surfaces add to the cooking and eating experience. Relax in the salon, or take a stroll around the garden or a dip in the pool - or finish off the day with a soak in the jacuzzi, or a game of pool or boules before taking a sundowner on the terrace.

Please note, the garden, pool, jacuzzi, and pool table are shared with our neighbouring gite - Le petit Champiau, which sleeps up to 4. Connecting doors between the two gites allow both to be booked together for larger groups.
